Loooong days, longer nights.

Thursday, January 12, 2012
Last week was a difficult week for me. Annie's funeral was on Thursday, then I got home from that to find out about the piracy of my books. (Yes, the person apologized for it, and yes, I do believe they're sorry and won't do it again.)

No, not a good day, for sure. I'm not really ready to talk about the funeral yet, although I do want to write a post about it sooner rather than later. Annie was a wonderful woman, and the funeral home was literally overflowing by several hundred people. I'm...still processing. And anyone who's followed me for a while knows that grief is an extremely difficult thing for me to process.

I feel like I'm losing my mind right now.

The fibro flare I'm in isn't helping either. And, oh joy, let's add insomnia to the list of symptoms. The past three nights, I haven't been able to get to sleep until after 3 a.m. and this is killing me. I don't mind the occasional intentional staying up late on the weekend, like for a play party or whatever, but this consistent insomnia is killing me. Yes, I am normally a night owl. However, I'm still waking up at my normal time. Sometimes I could get a couple more hours sleep, sometimes not, and this erratic sleep schedule is hell on a fibromyalgic.

On the other hand, at least I'm making good, steady progress on book four in my Triple Trouble series. (Working title: Triple Dog Dare.) The bridge book is turned in and my tentative release date from Siren is March 26th, so yay! :) I'm hoping to have book 4 turned in by the end of this month. I'm going to have four releases in the span of about seven weeks. Wow!!!

To celebrate this, I'm giving away an e-reader next month on my newsletter group, so make sure you sign up to stay posted on that.

If you're a member of the list, you can also access the calendar where I'm listing release dates and other events:

Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd sign and share the petition I created to get Goodreads to remove the ability to add e-book files to book listings to help prevent file piracy:

And don't forget to visit my Facebook page and click the Like button. (I prefer, due to Facebook's restrictions on the number of friends, that you like my page rather than friend my profile. Plus, my profile will clog your feed with pictures and miscellaneous stuff, whereas I keep my page mostly focused on my writing and related information.) Yes, I know it says Lesli Richardson. Facebook won't let me change the name because I have over 100 followers. *sigh* But that is my official Tymber Dalton Facebook page.

So sorry to hear about your friend, my thoughts are with you and her family.

I hope the troubles you are coping with at the moment ease soon. I have MS and it also causes me to suffer from bouts of insomnia and I can understand how difficult it can make life.
I loved 'Stoneface' you dealt with the ups and downs of MS well and the differing reactions of others... in fact beacause of reading that one book I have started to read more of your work and will continue to do so.

    Take care wish you well.

Although it may take a while, I really hope that everything will fall into place. From your illness to your pain over losing a friend. Fortunately, I have not been through the pain of losing someone (well not old enough to realise the loss), but illness wise I can sympathise as I had an illness 10 yrs ago and tough wood, all is well now. Keep strong.

    Hi Tymber,
I am sorry for your health flare and hopefully the insomnia will resolve itself soon. Grief is one of those things or processes which has no other resolution other than to go through it. Everyone does that differently... and no one person's way of dealing with it is more 'right' or 'correct' than another person. Your way is what it is and right for you at this time. Just be gentle with yourself, surround yourself with supportive positive people meanwhile.... and [smile] if it is that we get the benefit of your work in a number of titles in a short space of time... I will take it... but would feel sad if that happened at the expense of your health in the long term. take care

  1. Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. :) I know in the grand scheme of things that this, too, will pass, it's just it sucks when so much piles on at once.

    Tymber,
I have fibromyalsia also and I know your pain.It will always flair up the worst when you are the most upset. It's like an extra kick in the bum we don't need.I have read that you live a life style that helps you release some of the pain, I'm interested in this because I have no release from mine. With fibro you have to take it minute by minute and some how an hour goes by then another and some how you made the day and that is a huge accomplishment. Not sleeping is the worst because you don't get the break from the pain to deal with the next day. Take a hot bath and soak. Relax and let those creative juices flow so I can escape to the stories you write.Take care and from the bottom of my heart I wish you well.
