Happy freaking holidays (or how to torture your dog).

Well, there's one good thing about having fibromyalgia I suppose--it forces you to learn patience and hone your sense of humor.

It also forces you to celebrate your accomplishments instead of focusing on what you didn't do. Like today, go me, I actually wrote about 800 words. Which compared to my goose-egg totals of late, that's a pretty damn spiffy accomplishment. I've also ordered me a balance ball office chair which will hopefully help me with some of my pain issues and allow me to spend more time at the computer more comfortably. (Ask me if I care if that sentence is grammatically correct.)

Hubby and I stayed home and had a quiet Christmas alone together. It was nice spending time sitting on the couch and watching the dogs destroy their gifts. Although Scudder and Gidget seemed less than enthused by the reindeer antlers. (Hubby and I thought they were a scream, frankly.)

I know, that's a "kill me now, please" look that Gidget's wearing, but trust me, she survived.

My doctor has added Lyrica to my medicines, and yes it's helping. Unfortunately, we're having horribly freaky temperature swings here in southwest Florida. Freezing one night and 70 two days later. That's playing hell on my body and making it hard for me to even drag myself out of bed some days. But I'm trying to take it one day at a time. It's all I can do.

Our new year will be spent with friends. I'm trying to save up enough energy for their party because I really want to go. No midnight toast for me though (not with alcohol at least).

Here's hoping you have a safe and happy New Year. I know it's finally starting (I hope) to look up a little for me.
